Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of the online courses, digital materials, and account access provided at teachlanguagesonline.com (the “Site”), operated by Aruna Abicht, trading as TeachLanguagesOnline (“we,” “us,” “our”), a sole trader based in Scotland, United Kingdom. By purchasing a course or creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. What You’re Buying

TeachLanguagesOnline sells digital courses (currently “Getting Started on Preply,” “How to Teach the Perfect Lesson,” and the two combined as a bundle), delivered as lifetime access to online lesson content through a personal account on the Site. There is no physical product and no ongoing subscription; each purchase is a one-time payment for permanent access to that course’s content as it exists, and as we reasonably update it, going forward.

2. Payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders: it’s the seller you buy from at checkout, and it handles payment, any VAT or sales tax due, and customer service enquiries about your payment. By completing a purchase you also agree to Paddle’s Buyer Terms . We never see or store your card details. Prices are shown in euros (EUR) and include any VAT or sales tax that applies, so the price you see is the price you pay. Paddle’s checkout always shows the full amount before you confirm. Your card issuer may apply its own currency conversion if your card isn’t EUR-denominated. Your card statement will show the charge as coming from Paddle.

3. Account & Access

After a successful purchase, you’ll set a password to access your account, or, if you already have one, the course is added automatically. Your account is personal to you: it’s not to be shared, resold, or used to give course access to anyone who hasn’t purchased it themselves. You’re responsible for keeping your login details confidential.

4. Refunds

Purchases are generally non-refundable once you’ve started accessing a course. Any refund is at Paddle’s sole discretion, as set out in our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

The course content (lessons, activities, templates, scripts, and any other materials) is provided for your own personal, non-commercial use as a language teacher. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publish, or share course materials with anyone who hasn’t purchased access themselves.

6. No Guaranteed Outcomes

Our courses teach what we believe is an effective, practical approach to setting up as an online language teacher and planning lessons. They don’t guarantee any particular level of income, number of students, or outcome: your results depend on factors outside our control, including third-party platforms like Preply, which we don’t operate and aren’t responsible for. TeachLanguagesOnline is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Preply. “Preply” is a trademark of its owner and is used only to describe what the course covers.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Site and your course access available at all times, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access and aren’t liable for temporary downtime, maintenance, or issues outside our reasonable control.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim relating to your purchase is limited to the amount you actually paid. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that isn’t as described or of satisfactory quality, and nothing in these Terms affects those statutory rights.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use your account after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Changes never take away access to a course you’ve already bought.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and disputes may be brought in the Scottish courts. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.
